The “International Research and Education Hub” as a part of OrthoPhD program, is a dynamic initiative by the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Orthopaedic Surgery Department that serves as a collaborative platform, inviting institutions to join forces with the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at MGH in the realms of research, innovation, and education. Our Research and Education Hub is designed to facilitate collaboration and create opportunities for research institutions and academic entities to introduce promising candidates for research positions at MGH. Successful candidates will have the unique chance to undergo education, engage in groundbreaking research, and collaborate with world-renowned leaders in various fields of orthopaedic surgery research and innovation. Foot and Ankle Biomechanics Experimentation and Research (FABER) Laboratory at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. Led by Prof. Mandeep Dhillon and Dr. Siddhartha Sharma, FABER has been collaborating with FARIL-MGH and exchanging scholars, MD-PhD candidates, and researchers. Dr Sharma is the current ambassador for FARIL International in India. FABER’s fields of interest are Trauma and Foot & Ankle surgery. FABER is equipped with the infrastructure to conduct clinical and biomechanical studies as well as innovation and device development.
FABER at PGIMER offers 1-2 PhD positions each year for orthopaedic researchers and scientists who are interested in working in a collaborative environment between MGH-Harvard in the United States and FABER-PGIMER, in India.

The Cerrahpasa Research, Design and Simulation Laboratory (CAST) at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa. CAST is a cutting-edge research center that brings together health and engineering technologies to develop innovative products through advanced 3D technologies such as virtual models, 3D modeling, bioprinting, and AR/VR applications. CAST aims to address various disorders across different specialties and to be a hub where health and engineering technologies converge to develop novel products. CAST is currently collaborating with FARIL-MGH and is a part of the FARIL-International Initiative. Dr. Bedri Karaismailoglu, Assistant Professor of Orthoapedic Surgery, Orthopaedic foot & ankle, and Trauma surgeon, is the current ambassador for FARIL International in Istanbul, Turkey.
CAST at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa offers 1-2 PhD positions each year for orthopaedic researchers and scientists who are interested in working in a collaborative environment between MGH-Harvard in the United States and CAST-University-Cerrahpasa, in Turkey.

University Hospital of Ghent Orthopaedic Department has extensively contributed to the advancement of patient-specific trauma and foot & ankle modeling, 3D therapy planning of complex lower limb surgery, and biomechanical joint prediction models. The Ghent foot and ankle department was one of the founding partners of the weight-bearing CT International Study Group and has published numerous scientific articles to validate novel diagnostic tools and valuable addition to the state-of-art regarding the assessment of various orthopaedic pathologies. Ghent Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Lab (GOFAL), Led by Dr Arne Burssens and Dr. Matthias Peiffer, is currently collaborating with FARIL-MGH and is a part of the FARIL-International Initiative.
GOFAL at Ghent University Hospital offers 1 PhD position each year for orthopaedic researchers and scientists who are interested in working in a collaborative environment between MGH-Harvard in the United States and Ghent University Hospital, in Belgium.
